Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Monitoring

To help us monitor who The Uncertain Kingdom is reaching and how representative our support is, from November 2023 we’re gathering data on the protected characteristics (as defined by the Equality Act 2010) of our applicants.

We want to help filmmakers have sustainable careers so we’re also gathering data on the identity, location and socio-economic status of applicants. Over time, we hope this data will give us a picture of who sustains a film career, where and how they do it and what barriers they face, so that we can adapt and improve the way we fund projects.

At the end of the form, there are a couple of questions about how you feel about equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) monitoring itself. We’re curious about how applicants find the experience of completing EDI monitoring forms and their perspective on the practise itself.

We ask all applicants to fill in the form. However, if you don’t want to answer any or all of the questions, there are ‘prefer not to say’ options throughout and those answers are still helpful to us.

The equality, diversity and inclusion data we gather from this form is anonymous. The data is kept separate from the project application forms and is not used as part of assessing projects. We may from time to time share the anonymous EDI Data with our Partners and selected third parties for reasons including but not limited to, assistance with analysis.

Please submit an equality, diversity and inclusion monitoring form for each member of your team. The project application form will ask you to confirm that the forms have been submitted.

Thank you for your help.
